Die deutsche Sopranistin Lena Kutzner widmet sich schwerpunktmäßig dem deutschen und spätromantischen Repertoire. Zu ihren zentralen Partien zählen Werke von Richard Wagner und Richard Strauss.
Die aktuelle Spielzeit beginnt für sie mit der Wiederaufnahme von Mozarts "Don Giovanni" am Staatstheater Meiningen. Im September folgt ein weiteres Engagement mit Wagners "Tannhäuser" auf der Wartburg, bevor sie ab Oktober in einer Neuproduktion von Webers "Der Freischütz" als Agathe zu hören ist. Im Februar 2026 gibt Lena Kutzner ihr Debüt als Tochter in Hindemiths "Cardillac".
In der Spielzeit 2024/2025 gab Lena Kutzner ihr Korea-Debüt an der National Opera Seoul als Elisabeth in Wagners "Tannhäuser", eine Partie, die sie im Mai 25 auch auf der Wartburg interpretierte. Im Februar folgte ihr viel beachtetes Debüt als Isolde in Wagners "Tristan und Isolde" am Theater Lübeck, anschließend sang sie die Partie ab April auch am Staatstheater Meiningen.
Von 2021/22 bis 2023/24 war Lena Kutzner festes Ensemblemitglied des Staatstheaters Meiningen. Dort übernahm sie ein breites Repertoire, darunter Senta, Elsa, Elisabeth und Ada (Die Feen) von Richard Wagner, Marietta/Marie (Die tote Stadt) von Erich Wolfgang Korngold sowie Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) und Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Im Oktober 2022 gab sie ihr Debüt an der Deutschen Oper am Rhein als Senta in Wagners "Der fliegende Holländer" sowie am Theater Lübeck als Elsa in "Lohengrin". In der Spielzeit 2023/2024 debütierte sie dort zudem als Chrysothemis in Richard Strauss’ "Elektra" in einer Inszenierung von Brigitte Fassbaender.
2017 war sie bei den Wernigeröder Schlossfestspielen als Margarethe in Gounods "Faust" zu erleben.
Ihre erste feste Station war das Landestheater Neustrelitz, wo sie u. a. als Nedda, Angelina, Suzuki, Nancy, Donna Elvira und Hänsel auftrat. Anschließend war sie am Staatstheater Cottbus (u. a. Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni", Titelpartie in "Frau Luna", Sopranpart in Haydns "Die Schöpfung") sowie am Theater Chemnitz (Gerhilde in Wagners "Die Walküre", Kinderoper "Bei der Feuerwehr wird der Kaffee kalt") engagiert.
Ihre musikalische Laufbahn begann Lena Kutzner als Solistin im Mädchenchor ihrer Heimatstadt Hannover. Dort erhielt sie ihre erste musikalische und stimmliche Ausbildung bei Prof. Gudrun Schröfel. Es folgte ein Gesangsstudium an der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover bei Prof. Carol Richardson-Smith. Derzeit wird sie stimmlich von Romana Noack betreut.

The current season opens with a revival of Mozart’s "Don Giovanni" at Staatstheater Meiningen. In September, she returns to Wartburg Castle for Wagner’s "Tannhäuser", followed in October by a new production of Weber’s "Der Freischütz", in which she sings Agathe. In February 2026, she will make her debut as the Daughter in Hindemith’s "Cardillac".
During the 2024/2025 season, she made her Korean debut at the National Opera Seoul as Elisabeth in Wagner’s "Tannhäuser", a role she later reprised in May at Wartburg Castle. In February, she made her highly acclaimed debut as Isolde in Wagner’s "Tristan und Isolde" at Theater Lübeck, followed by further performances of the role from April at Staatstheater Meiningen.
From 2021/22 to 2023/24, Lena Kutzner was a permanent member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Meiningen, where she performed a wide-ranging repertoire including Senta, Elsa, Elisabeth, and Ada (Die Feen) by Richard Wagner, Marietta/Marie (Die tote Stadt) by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, as well as Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

She subsequently joined Staatstheater Cottbus (including Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni", "Frau Luna" in the title role, and the soprano solo in Haydn’s "The Creation") and Theater Chemnitz (Gerhilde in Wagner’s "Die Walküre"; the children’s opera "Bei der Feuerwehr wird der Kaffee kalt").
Lena Kutzner began her musical career as a soloist with the girls’ choir of her hometown Hanover, where she received her first musical and vocal training with Prof. Gudrun Schröfel. She studied voice at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover with Prof. Carol Richardson-Smith and is currently coached by Romana Noack.
